Farming & greenhouses
Where to buy seeds, farming modules and the Farming Console
Use Danko Lewis in the Docks for the starting quest’s seeds, and Piotr Turner’s Docks hardware shop for the console and farming equipment. Viola Melo, the Farmer in Meridian Market, is another named module supplier.
You need a console, a placed compatible module and the correct seed/input. A greenhouse address alone does not grow crops, and a higher-tier module can have a use requirement you have not reached.
Nivalis Nights / Farming equipment
Three different setup objects.
- Farming Console
Inspect the greenhouse’s existing equipment.
- Module family and tier
Match crop and the actual use requirement.
- Seed or input
Plant the correct inventory item.

Buy the missing part of the setup
| Need | Named starting source | Before paying |
|---|---|---|
| Onion Seeds for the first lesson | Clem’s Green Thumb introduction | Check the quest gift before buying another pack. |
| Seed Potatoes, cabbage/Bok Choy seeds, King Mushroom Spores | Danko Lewis, Docks seed vendor | Match the active crop objective, not a similarly named harvested grocery. |
| Farming Console | Piotr Turner, Docks hardware; relevant module sellers | Check whether the greenhouse already has one. |
| Root/Generic and other farming modules | Piotr Turner or Viola Melo, Meridian Farmer | Inspect crop family, tier and own use requirement. |
| Beef Resin Pellets | Danko and relevant Farmers/hardware stock, including Piotr | A Beef ingredient bought for cooking is not the printing input. |
The current Shops guide lists other Farmers and hardware retailers for wider shopping. This starting route avoids turning an early setup problem into a trip across every district. It does not guarantee a fixed price or current quantity at each seller.
Match the crop to the module family
| Output | Required family described by the guides | Input distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Onions or Potatoes | Root | Use the corresponding seed, not the harvested vegetable. |
| Cabbage or Bok Choy | Generic | Both appear in Sal’s order. |
| King Mushrooms | Mushrooms | Use spores; the family has a reported early level requirement. |
| Beef | Meat Printing | Use resin pellets rather than a vegetable seed. |
The module family says what it can produce; the tier says which version of that family you bought. A high-tier Root module does not become a mushroom bed, and a compatible seed cannot remove the tier’s own skill requirement.
Other families exist, but this is deliberately a starting procurement guide. A complete crop/optimal-climate database needs its own audited entries rather than extrapolating the table above.
Inspect the module before relying on a perk description
The current Farming guide reports three tiers, C, B and A, with different bonuses and use levels. Start with the actual object’s requirement. If you try to use it too early, the game’s message identifies the required level; preserve that information before purchasing a second copy.
Two older perk labels can mislead: the guide says basic Meat Printing C works before the Level 6 Butcher perk, and Hydro C before the later Hydroponics Specialist label. These are attributed current-guide observations. They explain why a perk name is not a safe universal module unlock table.
Clem’s Green Thumb reward is a Meat Printing Module A, reported to need Level 14. Owning that gift is not evidence that you can immediately operate it. Retain it and use an accessible compatible module for earlier orders.
Install, plant and verify one module
- Enter the correct greenhouse and inspect its existing equipment.
- Place the Farming Console and chosen module if missing.
- Keep the compatible seed/input in personal inventory.
- Interact with the empty module and select that input.
- Check that the module shows the intended specimen and growing state.
- Return when ready, harvest, and inspect both output and returned input before replanting.
The guide reports seeds returning on harvest. Check what your module actually returns rather than buying a stack for every future cycle automatically. Output goes into personal inventory in the described workflow; restaurant use needs another transfer.
Resolve the smallest equipment problem
If nothing grows, check console, placement, input compatibility and the object’s own use requirement in that order. If the crop is simply not ready, buying another console does not make the current harvest complete.
For the named orders, follow Green Thumb’s quantities and handovers. For routine supply, finish with the venue transfer. Success is a planted compatible crop and a harvested output you can locate, not merely ownership of several farming items.
