Greenhouse humidity, temperature and light: use one setup deliberately

Released-game guides · sources checked October 10, 2026

The short answer

From Farming Level 4, the current guide reports condition controls on the Farm Console. Temperature, Humidity and Light use game sliders from 0 to 100, and one set applies to the whole greenhouse, not a separate set for every module.

Inspect each specimen’s preferred values before changing the setup. The guide attributes condition matching to growth speed, not harvest quantity, so a faster plant does not by itself prove a bigger or more profitable harvest.

Nivalis Nights / Growing conditions

Three sliders. One greenhouse.

  1. Temperature

    Compare the specimen’s game-scale preference.

  2. Humidity

    Consider every module affected.

  3. Light

Read speed separately from harvest size.

Open the right controls and read the specimen

  1. Check your Farming level and whether the Conditions Expert control is available.
  2. Enter the intended greenhouse and open its console.
  3. Inspect the planted module’s specimen information for temperature, humidity and light preferences.
  4. Record the greenhouse’s current sliders and every crop already using them.
  5. Change a condition only after considering those other modules.

These slider numbers are game-scale values, not a verified Celsius/relative-humidity conversion. If the controls are still locked, continue ordinary harvesting and the first farming quests; buying unrelated furniture does not replace the skill prerequisite.

Different crop families can want different conditions

Qualitative preferences in the Green Thumb walkthrough
Quest cropReported temperature / humidity / light tendencyUseful comparison
OnionsModerate / low / highShares dry, bright preferences with potatoes, but not the same temperature tendency.
PotatoesLow / low / highCheck the actual specimen value before treating “low” as an exact slider number.
Cabbage and Bok ChoyModerate / moderate / moderateThe two Sal-order crops are a natural pair to compare.
King MushroomsHigh / high / lowContrasts with the dry preferences of the Root crops.
Beef printingLow / low / noneContrasts with the mushroom temperature/humidity setup.

This table conveys the task’s trade-offs; it is not a numerical optimum for all crops. Growing a contrasting order sequentially is one practical choice. Keeping mixed modules is another, provided you accept that one shared setup may not match every specimen equally.

Keep speed, quantity and your available time separate

The current Farming guide says conditions affect speed, while module tier, skill and upgrades can affect other bonuses. If you change several of those at once, the next harvest cannot isolate what the sliders contributed.

This worksheet uses the console’s observations rather than an unverified return-on-investment calculator. A faster crop is only useful if you can collect it, transport it and use or sell the output.

Do not optimize around an assumed automatic collector

Current Neoseeker and October 10 player reports describe the Automatic Harvester feature as unimplemented. Plan the greenhouse around a collection routine you can actually perform. A theoretically faster setup that leaves repeated crops uncollected may not help your restaurant.

Use the harvest-to-venue route to connect collection with storage and menu use. For quest produce, reserve the requested quantities before transferring everything into the kitchen.

Success is a condition change you can explain from the specimen and console, with output reaching its intended use. This page does not prescribe a universal optimal greenhouse, exhaustive crop table or fixed profit per day.
