Where to buy ingredients: a practical Meridian Market supply route

Released-game guides · sources checked October 10, 2026

The short answer

Shop by ingredient type rather than checking every stall. For the opening Chicken Noodle Soup, use a Greengrocer for Ramen Noodles and Onions and a Butcher for Chicken. Meridian Market also has the Baker/Farmer needed for Wheat when you add Beer.

Buy what the current menu needs, return to the correct venue and deposit it. Personal inventory, a shopping-list entry and usable restaurant stock are three different states.

Match the ingredient to a store type

Some ingredients have alternatives across store types. The useful question is whether a reachable seller has the exact item, an affordable quantity and any trade restriction. A store-type match does not guarantee infinite stock, the lowest current price or every possible ingredient.

Do the first ingredient run in one pass

  1. At Ramen Noir, expand the active recipe and note the missing ingredients and processors.
  2. Check venue stock and personal inventory before leaving. Recovered delivery overflow may already be in your pockets.
  3. Visit the Greengrocer for Onions/Ramen Noodles and the Butcher for Chicken. Add Wheat from the Baker/Farmer only if the active menu includes the drink.
  4. Inspect stock and the total purchase price instead of copying a walkthrough’s quantity.
  5. Return to the venue and put Chicken in refrigerated storage, with the starting Onions and noodles in the appropriate cupboard storage.
  6. Reopen the menu, then watch one dish being prepared and served.

ScreenHype’s October 6 guide provides market-square landmarks for the Meridian food vendors. Use the named vendor/store type as the primary match if your approach or map orientation differs. For wider shopping, Lowtown has basic Butcher, Greengrocer and Herbs stores; it is not a substitute for every Meridian vendor.

Compare prices without creating another shortage

Neoseeker reports differences by district, vendor, day and trading modifiers. Compare the price on the current item screen and the travel involved. An old fixed-price table cannot prove that one vendor is always cheapest in your save.

Before travelling farther for a discount, consider whether the kitchen has enough stock to keep serving and whether carried food will reach suitable storage. A cheaper stack that spoils before use or leaves the menu blocked is a poor supply run.

A procurement note for each active recipe
Write downWhy it helps
Exact ingredient and venueAvoid buying the right item for the wrong restaurant.
Vendor/store type and districtMake the next run repeatable.
Available quantity and displayed priceSeparate a seller shortage from a cash shortage.
Storage destination and free roomPrevent purchased food remaining outside usable venue storage.
Manual or Manager replenishmentDo not assume a Manager can purchase caught/grown-only ingredients.

When the vendor does not solve the menu requirement

If the seller is tier-locked, use the trading check and look for a reachable alternative. If the ingredient cannot be bought, consider a learnt dish you can supply or an allowed customization; do not promise that raising the restocking budget makes it purchasable.

Update 4 specifically names unavailable ingredients as one reason the restock objective recurs. Keep the purchase route and the menu requirement linked. Success is usable stock at the intended venue and a recipe that can actually run, not merely a completed shopping transaction.
