Squid Ink for A Drink to the Past: suppliers and the old-save fix

The short answer

Match Lily’s current ingredient request before travelling: Squid Ink belongs to one branch of A Drink to the Past. ScreenHype’s vendor guide lists it at a Drinks Vendor on Meridian Market’s north outer path beside the Downtown Tavern. A separate community item reference lists fishmongers Ky Bogie in the Docks and Hugo Petri in The Stacks as alternatives.

Update 6 makes Squid Ink non-perishable and removes its refrigeration requirement. It also fixes older saves where the item failed to appear or was already rotten, blocking this quest. Supplier listings are dated references; check your actual trade screen and access requirements.

Confirm the quest branch and current item

The community quest reference describes alternative ingredient sequences. One later branch asks for Squid Ink alongside other cocktail ingredients; another uses a different set. This page does not claim that every playthrough must buy Squid Ink or invent the dialogue choices that select the branch.

Open the journal and read Lily’s current objective.
Record the exact missing item and amount shown in your save.
If Squid Ink is the active requirement, inspect inventory before making a duplicate purchase.
If your save has the old missing/rotten item symptom, confirm Update 6 is installed before repeating the quest.

Use one reachable supplier and verify the trade

For the Meridian route, follow the north outer market path to the Drinks Vendor near the Downtown Tavern. ScreenHype’s October 6 article includes Squid Ink in that vendor’s listed stock. If another district is easier to reach, the community item page names Ky Bogie (Docks) and Hugo Petri (The Stacks).

Read the current stock, price and any Trading restriction in the actual shop. Update 6’s Characters-menu item/vendor search can help locate a seller. A source listing does not guarantee that every shop is unlocked or has the same price in your save.

Return the requested item and read the next objective

After obtaining the item, verify its name and condition, then follow the current journal marker back to Lily. Complete the ingredient conversation and check the next stage. Buying the item alone is not quest completion.

The non-perishable fix means Squid Ink no longer needs refrigerator space. It does not establish the storage needs of the other ingredients in the request. Keep those separate when preparing a delivery.

If the old-save block persists

Keep a record of the installed build, current journal stage, item visibility/condition and the supplier or hand-in interaction. The patch fixes a named old-save item problem; it is not a universal recovery for every Lily conversation or quest branch.

Do not throw away your only save, reset unrelated quests or assume a recipe name from a different branch. Retain a backup and report the precise remaining mismatch if the repaired item still cannot advance the current objective.
