The Network stuck at Escape a Health Inspection: return for Ava’s dialogue
After updating to Update 5 or later, return to the place where you helped the GenDebtors. The developer says Ava will speak there and you can continue The Network if you were blocked at Escape a Health Inspection.
The note addresses a conditional blocker at that exact stage. It is not a complete The Network walkthrough, a route for every Ava disappearance or an instruction to change your save file.
Nivalis Nights / The Network
Return to the GenDebtors scene.
- Update 5 or later
Confirm the fix is installed.
- Exact journal stage
Escape a Health Inspection.
- Return and hear Ava
Then check the next objective.
On this page
First match the journal stage
- Check that your installed game includes the October 15 Update 5 fix.
- Open the journal and confirm the quest is The Network and the blocked objective is Escape a Health Inspection.
- Use the location from your earlier GenDebtors help step; the official note does not name a universal map coordinate.
- Return there and allow Ava’s dialogue to occur.
- After the conversation, reopen the journal and follow its next objective.
Why visiting an unrelated Ava marker may not help
The recovery trigger is tied to the earlier GenDebtors scene. Searching every Ava-related restaurant or repeating an unrelated conversation is not the developer’s stated procedure. Likewise, buying a permit or changing a venue’s review score is not part of this fix.
If you do not remember the place, use the completed quest context and your own visited locations to identify it. We do not substitute a guessed district or building for the location omitted from the patch note.
Keep the other named quest fixes separate
| Quest or symptom | What the notes actually say |
|---|---|
| Coffee Run / Lily Nightingale | Update 5 fixes a conditional hard lock; it does not publish this GenDebtors return step for Coffee Run. |
| Hacker Guide / vendors met before Kai | Update 5 fixes that particular ordering blocker. |
| Trade Talks, Where Is Ava?, Lochlainn’s Pain / Alexander | Update 5 fixes specific reappearance conditions. |
| Ava at R. M. Alken / Dr Matombo | The October 16 patch lists another softlock fix; do not assume it is this objective. |
If the dialogue still does not trigger
Keep a separate copy of your save before further investigation. Record the build, exact journal text, the place you returned to and what Ava did. The useful success check is the conversation and the next journal stage, not merely reaching the district.
If those checks match but the block remains, it is a continuing case beyond the documented recovery. Share a reproducible description through the game’s support/community route when your account is allowed; no universal restart, wait duration or save edit is established here.
