Beer Soup in old saves: Cooked Wheat replaces Beer

Update #6 old-save recipe repair; reviewed October 24, 2026

The short answer

Under Update 6, Beer Soup in existing saves asks for Cooked Wheat instead of Beer and can be cooked again. The developer says recipe fixes now reach older saves while preserving player customizations. Confirm your installed version and inspect that save’s current requirement before supplying it.

This is a correction to a particular recipe state. It is not a complete Beer Soup unlock route, a promise that every red icon is this bug or an instruction to erase your custom recipes.

Beer → Cooked Wheat in older saves.

  1. Confirm the build

Update 6 applies recipe repairs to old saves.

  2. Read the current recipe

    Keep retained customizations visible.

  3. Supply and observe

Match ingredients and processors to an order.

Match the old-save symptom

  1. Confirm the recipe is Beer Soup and you are inspecting the affected saved game.
  2. Record the installed build and the recipe’s current ingredient list.
  3. If the save predates the repair, update normally and reopen the recipe in that save.
  4. Compare the requirement again; the documented correction changes Beer to Cooked Wheat.
  5. Read any retained customization before deciding what your kitchen needs.

Check the corrected recipe all the way to production

Expand the current recipe requirements and inspect both ingredients and processors. Raw Wheat is not the same item as the Cooked Wheat named by the correction. Use the kitchen-equipment guide to distinguish ingredient preparation from the final meal’s equipment, and follow the current preparation requirement.

Match the menu to current stock, then observe an actual order. This page does not invent the remaining full recipe, serving yield or appliance ratio from the one ingredient named in the patch.

Preserved customization needs a deliberate comparison

The developer explicitly says existing customizations are preserved. Keep a record of your edited slots and compare them with the recipe you actually see after updating. An allowed substitution and a base recipe error are different things.

If you intentionally change ingredients, use the permitted-slot workflow and check supply again. Do not reset every recipe or overwrite your only save merely because an older guide shows a different list.

If the recipe still cannot be made

Record the build, save age, recipe name, whether it was customized and the displayed requirements. Keep a separate backup before further investigation. If the old Beer requirement or another production blocker persists on the repaired build, report that exact case instead of assuming the fix covers every recipe symptom.

If Beer Soup is not learned at all, that is a recipe-learning task. Supplying an ingredient or applying this repair does not itself establish an unlock.
